In April 2024 my family and I had the pleasure of taking a tour through the Myoko region with Leif from Himitsu House. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that this tour was going to be a memorable experience. The absolute highlight of our tour was the local cherry blossom festival. Leif ensured we were positioned to see the most beautiful and culturally important parts of the festival. It honestly was truly a magical experience that left an impression that will stay with us for a long time. The food on the tour was also a standout feature. In particular, the local hidden okonomiyaki restaurant Leif took us too was transcendent. We had both the Osaka and Hiroshima style dishes, eating far more than advisable, but for which I have zero regrets! There was still some snow on the peaks, so we spent a day snowboarding at Lotte Arai. Leif took me to spots that suited the slushy spring conditions and my level of experience. I was quite impressed with the size of the resort, and the interesting terrain available! I definitely recommend going for a ride here if you have the opportunity. Lastly, I have to mention the special connection Leif had with our three-year-old son. From the moment they met, they were instant best friends. Leif went out of his way to make sure our son was entertained and engaged throughout the tour, and it made a huge difference in our overall experience. I highly recommend taking a tour with Himitsu House to anyone looking for a unique and unforgettable travel experience in Japan.

Great stay, Wonderful Spring weather, fantastic local food and friendly people, amazing scenery.

I stayed here in 22/23 for a few months and it was absolutely amazing. Super spacious for Japanese housing and Leif as a host was really accommodating. If you'd like to get into some traditional restaurants (Izakayas) you might be fortunate enough for Leigh to introduce you to his community. There's a lot of places to see around here and you won't just be getting accomodation, but you'll be meeting a life long friend and someone who will be happy to share some experiences with you and your guests. I would 100% recommend staying here. I've got to experience so much in Myoko and I sincerely appreciate and thank Leif for this experience.
